Tennessee Chapter Leader

Maitreya Dixit

“My name is Maitreya Dixit, and I am a rising senior at Beech High School in Hendersonville, TN. I am 17 years old, and I am strongly inclined towards the combined study of computer science and biotechnology.

I am a 2020 Governor’s School Scholar and the founder of a free ACT mentoring organization called fACTs. In my free time, I enjoy tinkering with molecular structures using online chemistry software, learning how to problem solve using code, and volunteering at local non-profits. As a GCL chapter leader in Tennessee, I look forward to spreading the love of computing by moderating two types of events in TN: inviting effective guest speakers to engage and encourage students and organizing in-state competitions that offer incentives to participating students. “

Girls Computing League works hard every day to help students achieve their dreams of entering a technical career field. We work with companies both to create higher education opportunities for students and hunt for mentors willing to support the next generation of computer scientists. However, we are reliant on our global community of enthusiasts, students and activists to bring about true change.
