Python Programming WorkshopsIn this virtual, 7-week workshop, students will learn everything from the basics of Python programming such as print statements to complex topics such as lists and classes, through interactive lessons, assignments, and projects.
Overview
We are organizing a free virtual 7 week python programming workshop for students, primarily focused on grades 5-8. This 7 week course will cover everything from the basics of programming such as print statements and for loops, to complex topics such as lists and classes.
The class will be taught on Zoom every Saturday from 1 to 2:30 EDT, and the lessons will be recorded and posted to our Youtube channel in case students are unable to attend the meet. Students will be given brief homework assignments each week to help promote their learning and understanding of the material. At the beginning of the course each student will be assigned an individual project that they will work on throughout the duration of the course to develop their skills.
Benefits of Attending
Why you should register for our Python workshops!
Project-Based Learning
GCL has a long history of teaching through hands-on learning rather than just lectures. Our Python programming workshop sessions are designed to help students understand how to code through the lens of building a project in an area that they care about!
Stepping Stone to the Future
Python is a commonly-used language that is at the basis of many emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.
With an introduction through these workshops, students will be ready to learn more and work on projects in these areas!
For Students, By Students
Learning how to code is hard, but who better to help a student understand than another student!
Our workshop requires no prior knowledge of Python or computer science to attend. Our group of students is excited to help you learn!
